The transnational and trans local aspects of migration in modern Russia

The project aims to study the phenomenon of transnationalism and trans locality in labor migration from Central Asia in St. Petersburg and Moscow. The focus of the research – the content and the quality of relations between the sending and receiving societies. The research is conducted in St. Petersburg and in Central Asia. The first stage of the project lasted from August to November, 2014. The second stage lasted from May to November 2015. The CISR’s partner in the project is European University at Saint Petersburg (the supervisor of the project – Sergey Abashin).
