A Tale of Two Laws: The Twenty Year History of the Law on Rehabilitation of Victims of Political Repression

The law on rehabilitation of victims of political repression was adopted in Russia in 1991.

The law recognized as an attempt of authorities to articulate public position on stalinism and political repressions.

The project aims to collect and study the cases of rehabilitation after the law adoption, and to know what role the law plays in the process of rehabilitation, and what symbolical meaning it has for different generations of the Russian society.

The main method of the research is biographical interview.
