To what extent does Russian modernization depend on social interaction patterns specific to the country? From practices rooted in Russian culture such as teamwork, business conduct, and management? Which ones dominate and what differentiates them from the conventionally “western” cultural models? The Centre of Independent Sociological Research conducted research for this project from March to May of 2011 in Russia (Saint-Petersburg), the United States of America (Maryland and New Jersey) and the Federal Republic of Germany (Berlin and Northern Rein-Vestfalia).
This study was conducted by order of the Commission of Modernization under the president of the Russian Federation.
