Seminar of Taija Kaarlenkaski, (University of Eastern Finland, Joensuu, Finland) “Perspectives on Human-Animal Studies: Multispecies Approaches to Theories and Methodologies”
During the recent decades, there has been growing interest towards human-animal relationships in humanities and social sciences, which has led to the establishment of an emergent research field, human-animal studies. This talk will discuss the background and main premises of this field, focusing on theoretical and methodological approaches. Central themes of the talk will be posthumanist approaches to human-animal relations and theoretization on animal agency, as well as different multispecies methodologies.
